Pins I’ve Tried
I’ve noticed over the last few weeks (or more?) that Pinterest has added a “Tried” section for Pins that one has tried. I can honestly say I haven’t tried many things – perhaps because I’ve convinced myself over the years that I’m not very creative or maybe I’m too much of a perfectionist and if things don’t come out perfect the first time around, then why bother, amirite?
Here is a selection of the very few pins that I have tried. Let me know in the comments below (or in the Instagram comments!) which you like best and if you’ve tried any pins you’ve found on Pinterest.
These bouquets are very special to me. They were a collaboration between my sisters, my mother, my best friend and myself. We rolled up our sleeves, put our creative energy together and assembled them, quite literally, the night before my wedding.
(The flowers were purchased at Costco and the ribbon, burlap and string was purchased at Michael’s.)
They weren’t perfect like the pin is, but somehow, that fact comforted me. Artistic creations, much like a marriage between two creative beings, aren’t meant to be perfect to be beautiful.
The bouquets fit nicely into our custom-decorated mason jars (by Prairie Love) and were such pretty centerpieces on the dinner table after the ceremony!
When it comes to painting my nails, I’m pretty basic. I love the darker shades on my fingernails and my toe nails always get a basic red.
When I found this pin, however, I decided to give it a shot. It looked simple and chic, low-maintenance, but with a bit of sparkle.
Here is my version, as a “before” shot of my next pin…I have to admit, though, I did get them done at a nail salon. That still counts, right? Right??
Chic pumpkin decor
These pumpkins were really easy to make, although I did modify the colours a bit as I had run out of black paint. I’m not a huge fan of carving, so these were a nice alternative (and look fabulous to boot!) to traditional carved pumpkins.
